The hidden truth about chemicals

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, In : Nutrition

We have been going up and down the ladder about why we should eat as fresh as we can, why organic or naturally grass fed beef, chicken and wild fish is best for your diet and so on and so forth. Now, just to put another nail in the coffin of some of our favourite processed foods, here is another reason why green, crunchy and fresh is best.

Be in transformation mode to reach your goals

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, In : Goal setting

New Year has come and gone and we are about halfway through February already. A big hurdle is looming. Valentine’s day, the day of love, the day where we go out with our loved ones and celebrate another day, week, month or year of togetherness and love. It is also the day that the training and diet regime flies out the window and we indulge in chocolates from morning to noon. Rome wasn’t broken down in a day either

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Thursday, December 17, 2009, In : Nutrition

You know the saying “Rome wasn’t built in a day” and we refer a lot of things to that saying. Especially eating right, exercising hard and all round healthy habits. Posted by Lizelle Pool on Friday, November 27, 2009, In : Nutrition

We need energy to survive and function properly. What we eat on a daily basis will be used as energy to keep our bodies going through the day. The food we eat consist of calories and the number of calories any human being needs is dependent on his/her age, height, weight, gender and how active they are on a daily basis. The equation is simple: If the amount of calories we take in daily  is more than the calories we can expend, we are going to start picking up weight and eventually become over...

Abdominal muscles, where are you?

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, In : November 2009

Well, the good news is that your abdominal muscles are where everybody else’s is. So you haven’t lost it, misplaced it or sold it for a bargain! Tell me how to find it then! This is actually very simple, but not so easy.

If you cannot see your abdominals it is because they are covered in a layer of fat. No amount of sit ups is going to help you see them either. Sit ups may increase the strength of your midsection and of course the strength of your hip flexors as well. (You use the upp...
