Be in transformation mode to reach your goals

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, In : Goal setting

New Year has come and gone and we are about halfway through February already. A big hurdle is looming. Valentine’s day, the day of love, the day where we go out with our loved ones and celebrate another day, week, month or year of togetherness and love. It is also the day that the training and diet regime flies out the window and we indulge in chocolates from morning to noon. Don’t get me wrong, nothing wrong with some chocolate love, a nice bottle of wine with a fine meal and some desser...

F.A.T – Frequently Attacked Terror

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Thursday, January 7, 2010, In : Nutrition

We just love to hate fat don’t we? It is the baddy that is the root to all our problems. We want nothing to do with it, yet it is the biggest percentage of our diets. It just tastes so amazingly good. We are drawn to fat like a moth to a flame. We can’t help it, it just happens, as soon as we see, that plate with a burger and fries are standing in front of us and we are halfway through the meal already!

Are we obsessing enough about our health?

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Tuesday, December 1, 2009, In : Nutrition

Strange question, you might say. Just look at it for a moment. We obsess about money, a lot. The equation is simple: If the amount of calories we take in daily  is more than the calories we can expend, we are going to start picking up weight and eventually become over...

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Thursday, November 19, 2009, In : Nutrition

What is gluten and why is everybody up in arms about it? Is it the next component that is a big no-no in Hollywood diets? Maybe it is a new fad in the quest to lose weight and look pretty? Or a new idea to make a quick buck?

Abdominal muscles, where are you?

Posted by Lizelle Pool on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, In : November 2009

Well, the good news is that your abdominal muscles are where everybody else’s is. So you haven’t lost it, misplaced it or sold it for a bargain! Tell me how to find it then! This is actually very simple, but not so easy.

If you cannot see your abdominals it is because they are covered in a layer of fat. No amount of sit ups is going to help you see them either. Sit ups may increase the strength of your midsection and of course the strength of your hip flexors as well. (You use the upp...
