So we have hit a new month. How are your resolutions going? Are you still eating healthy and what about those workouts? Or are the bad habits slipping back into their comfortable place again? Are you fighting the same demons as last year or are you getting the better of them?


I read something interesting the other day and I thought I should share it with you. “It doesn’t really matter where you start, just as long as you do.” Cool hey? And the best part is that you don’t have to start with the really fancy stuff, keep it stupid simple. No program is the golden one out there (oh my goodness, really?) yip, no program is perfect! All you need to do is get going and start doing something.


You can start with something like 10 minutes of simple 2 handed kettlebell swings every day for a whole month and that is it. This will teach you one thing, consistency and at the end of the day this is key to get you to your goals. Of course, an even more useful habit that you create for yourself by doing this is getting your motivational levels up and that is way more powerful than anything else.


You can spend hundreds and thousands of rands on books and programs, and a lot of us do just that, but if they lie around gathering dust, they are of no use to you. It is fantastic to read the book, get excited about the specific program and diet that are outlined in the book but still, if you are not using it, it is wasted money and will be of no use to you. Pick one, any one and get going. If it looks too daunting, doesn’t matter, just start, with the basics and create that habit.


Just think about it. Your time is running out every single day you delay in reaching your goals. You can get the results you want by starting today and doing something. Every one of our goals is different. You are the only one that can make that decision and being the brand new month of the year, it is your choice to start over, but this time do it as if you mean it.
